The FBI Scam The FBI scam is aimed at email scam victims who are currently in the throws of completing a payment with a scammer abroad - normally Nigeria. A blanket scam email purporting to come from the FBI in the USA and containing a forged signature of Robert S. Mueller informs the receipient that they must not continue with the deal and that the FBI are now dealing with their monetary transaction and that they will make the payment instead. Instructions are contained within the email for the recipient to make an immediate payment for a nominal amount direct to an individual in Nigeria or a similar country via Western Union or Moneygram - the security question and answer is contained within the email. Although appearing to be entertaining to many, some people can still be duped by this one - particularly when they are already involved in another advance free fraud scam and are worried about the security of the transaction. This is a good example that demonstrates just how dishonest the 419 scammers are - not only will they scam victims by email, they'll even scam their peers!
