Spam Emails
There's nothing more annoying than accessing your email inbox only to find it clogged up with advertising emails offering links to pharmaceutical companies, pornographic websites and lots more. Thankfully nowadays nearly all companies providing email accounts incorporate a spam filter which automatically purges the spam before it reaches your inbox.
However, some spam still gets through and it's annoying. You can deal with this yourself by using a separate spam filter on your own PC which checks your incoming mail and deletes the unwanted messages. Most of the large internet security companies like Norton, McAffee and Kaspersky have spam protection software built into their internet security software so if you're already using one of these or something similiar on your own PC remember to turn it on!
If you want to reduce the amount of spam emails you receive then bear the following in mind:
1. Never post an entry on a blog or a guest book which makes your email address visible - once your email address gets added to a spam list you can be guaranteed to be on it for a very long time. Spambots will crawl through websites on the internet searching for email addresses and take them and add them to their lists for sending out spam. 2. Never reply to a spam email or click any 'unsubscribe' link - all you are doing is saying to the spammer that your email address is active and in reality you're asking them to send you more! 3. If you have your own website or social networking page, don't make your email address viewable. 4. If you find spam - DELETE IT straight away.
