Employment Scams
Employment scams are offers of job opportunities and can be varied and encompass all sorts of jobs and positions - qualified and unqualified. Some scams are aimed at students who have just finished their university studies and in some cases are therefore more likely to fall for the offer of a good well paid job to match their qualifications as these days it's becoming more difficult to secure a well paid job in the current economic climate.
In contrast, many scammers are also sending out scam emails promising basic entry level manual jobs in popular branded hotels and restaurants situated in large well known cities in different coutries. The scammer will include air fares, accommodation, work permit and passport fees and of course a surprisingly good rate of pay to make the positions more attractive to people looking to move to the United Kingdom or USA or wherever the hotel/business is located. They use pictures and names of genuine establishments in their emails and unless victims are familiar with this type of scam, it can be easy to be taken in - particularly when they are from less well off countries and want to emigrate to earn more money and support their families back home.
This scam takes a similar pattern to normal advance fee scams - the offer of a job, transport, passport, work permit and salary is there - you just need to send off the processing fee and you're accepted. Obviously once you've paid your money you hear nothing else.
