Cats & Dogs For Sale/To Adopt Scams

(You Only Pay The Delivery!)

Becoming more and more popular is the advance fee fraud scam for selling animals or even giving them away to good homes. Not only do the scammers send out their normal scam emails with pictures of cute adorable little kittens and puppies with excellent pedigrees but these days they're even listing adverts in newspapers and other magazines.

Normally the price for the animal is very low indeed (and very often it's free to a good home) until that is there comes the important matter of delivery and insurance. In nearly all cases the 'seller' asks for payment to be made by Western Union or equivalent - with that method you can wave goodbye to your cash as you'll never see it again - and you're guaranteed also to never see the animal you were promised - as it never existed in the first place! The picture you received was copied from an internet web page!

Some scammers give a small price for delivery so it looks as though it could be genuine. However, just before the supposed dispatch, they then email/phone again asking for an insurance premium for the animal - usually another £150-£300.

Many people are duped by the lovely pictures of the animal the scammer emails them and we even had one scammer who threatened to have the animal put to sleep if we didn't continue with the payment via Western Union. People who carry out these scams are preying on the vulnerable animal lovers amongst us - don't be fooled!

If you want to buy or adopt an animal, contact your local animal shelter - they have lots of unwanted gorgeous cats and dogs desperate for good homes!
